About Me

I love to paint and began this practice later in life. For me it is a marvelous journey full of life, light, and beauty. Each day is an adventure where I find myself chasing an illusive and wondrous dream.

My journey as an artist has taught me much about how to live happily and with purpose. I have learned that life should not be a performance, but an experience to treasure in the moment.

I try to approach each painting with this attitude, savoring each and every brushstroke, moment of inspiration, and setback like a deep and cleansing breath of fresh air nurturing my spirit.

Inspiration and beauty are all around us, and sometimes found in the most unexpected places. My paintings, sketches and studies reflect this, capturing everyday moments of life and places that I've traveled. Each and every work tells its own wonderful a story.

Nature is my muse (and I hope yours as well!). I love trees and flowers for their individual personalities. Clouds mesmerize me. Ocean waves soothe me.

Another lesson that I've learned on this journey is that perfection is the enemy of the moment. It is far better to capture the experience of the moment imperfectly than to worry and fuss and let the experience slip through your grasp.

So yes, my art is imperfect. But I've come to treasure the beauty of those imperfections for what they are, a glorious reflection of how life is truly lived. Where each day affords us another opportunity to improve, grow and live life to the fullest.

A journey travelled alone is often not worth the effort. Fortunately, I find my self surrounded by amazing people on my artist's journey.

Along with wonderful collectors like you, I've found amazing companionship, collaboration, and support by becoming a member of a local independent group of artists called the Weir Farm Artist Collective, National Historic Park, in Wilton, CT.

The Collective is a place where we come together as artists to share ideas and paint in plein air together, and I am delighted to share the journey with each and every one of these talented artists. I have recently been asked to become a member of the Weir Farm Artist Collective Board.  I am looking forward to working with this wonderful group of people.
